Can you believe it’s December already? I seriously CANNOT. It’s so crazy! I swear, it was just Halloween. Well, I am finally back with a new Friday Favorites after a long hiatus! Despite being home all of the time (seriously – all.of.the.time), it’s been such a long time since I’ve been able to write up a personal post that I feel like we have a lot to catch up on.

This + That

Let’s see – I’m going to give a brief rundown of what’s been going on around here – we got a puppy!

His name is Oakley and he’s 9 weeks old. Overall, he’s really good though he did give me a run for my money last night! (You can check the puppy highlight on my Instagram stories to see what I mean). I will admit that the biting and chewing are starting to drive me crazy though. If anyone has tips to help that stop, please email me or leave a comment! The kids are so excited to have him home with us but our older dog, Mia, is definitely not ready for a new roommate.

I read The Guest List, You Deserve Each Other and Troubles in Paradise, which is a pretty small list but it’s been really crazy lately with virtual school and I seem to have a hard time focusing lately. I am looking forward to The Twelve Dates of Christmas and This Time Next Year. I’ve watched The Queen’s Gambit, The Undoing, Dream Home Makeover, Emily in Paris, Holiday and Dash & Lily. The Queen’s Gambit was my favorite!

I wallpapered my foyer, painted the dresser and handles and I love it! I did it just in time to leave everything up for a week and then had to move it all around for our foyer tree but I am so happy with how it turned out. Even my husband commented about what a big difference it makes!

I’ve been making this honey soy chicken on repeat – mostly because it’s something that my picky son will actually eat! It’s really, really good and we all love it! You should give it a try!

I put together my holiday gift guides – best gifts for the home lover, best games for families and kids, amazing gifts to buy on Amazon, gift guide for boys (ages 8-10) and gift guide for girls (ages 8-12). Check them out if you are stuck on a gift!

I ordered this fabric to reupholster our family room chair that has been falling apart. I hope I love it! It’s a hard balance to find something that is sturdy enough to withstand my 8-year old son + in my price range + my style. There were several that I loved but that would never have lasted in this house. I would really have preferred to choose something light and bright but that just wouldn’t have been very practical.

I’m a few days behind but I am going to print my Christmas Family Fun Checklist and fill it out this weekend! We’ve got lots of fun things planned this season and I find that having the checklist gives the kids something to look forward to!

And last, I am nearly done with my dining room refresh project! We moved out our old set and brought in this table. I’m waiting for these chairs (in the natural oak color) to arrive, along with this chair + this slipcover (in the french blue color which is not nearly as blue as it looks online) for the ends. I’m still trying to figure out what to do for a new light fixture. There are a few I’ve had my eye on but I’m mostly hoping for one to magically appear for free, lol. I considered doing a DIY on our old kitchen chandelier but in the end decided it would be more trouble than it was worth. I’m not very good at DIY’s, unless it’s paint or wallpapering.

I’ve got some really great items this week for my Friday Favorites. I happened to see this pretty chair on sale from Wayfair and then a few minutes later saw it used in this photo! Too bad I don’t have a place for a pair of them! I also saw this pretty white bed on sale. This pine cone and berry garland is on sale too! It would be beautiful on a railing or mantle. I also noticed that this console table and this tree collar from the McGee x Target line are both still available!
