This and That
Does a Friday Favorites post still count if you post it on a Sunday night? I sure hope so because I couldn’t get my act together last week to get it done on time! 😉
This week, I’ve done a lot of reading and have stayed up super late a few nights to finish up some books. I read Fight or Flight (loved it!), On Dublin Street (liked it but fair warning, it had way more, um, “adult time” than Fight or Flight) and The HoneyMooner (lighthearted and super cute). Amazon was running a deal on KindleUnlimited ($4.99 for 3 months) so I decided to join. (I found that offer by signing up through my Kindle. I didn’t see it online so maybe check there first!). I’ve been having a hard time finding things to download from the library lately.
We’ve been lucky to have some really great weather late last week and this weekend so we’ve mostly abandoned all house chores and projects and spent all of our time in the pool. We only have a few weeks left before it closes for the winter. I just cannot believe how quickly this summer flew by!
I found out this week that Studio McGee is doing another release from Target in a few weeks. I’m going to put together a post with all of my favorites – there are some amazing home decor pieces coming soon!
And finally, FINALLY – we hung up the drying rod in our laundry room and it’s so, so nice to be able to hang items up to dry again. It might have taken a few months after 2 dead drill batteries and 2 rounds of the wrong size screws but it’s finally done!
Back to School and New Projects
We are busy preparing for online learning around here. The kids “go back” on Wednesday. Their school is doing in-person learning but we chose the option of keeping them home (at least to start). It’s a live stream of their teachers teaching in the classroom so we are hoping for the best! I’ve got plans to set each kid up in their own spaces and am using these carts to keep us organized.
My daughter will be in the toy room. In my favorite coastal artwork post, I talked about one wall in there needing to be patched up and naturally, that’s snowballed into me wanting to paint the whole room. It’s definitely not going to get done before school starting on Wednesday though. Hopefully soon!
My son will be set up in our dining room. We have an older dining room set that was included when we bought the house. I’ve wanted to get something new in there forever. I considered selling off all of the furniture and just putting a small table in there and letting the kids use the room as a bonus den/toy room however, I know we will want a larger dining table eventually so it seems silly to invest in anything else for just a short amount of time.
So, I started searching for a nice quality table in my budget but was striking out a lot. But I think I finally found one! This mood board is for sure not a professional rendering or anything but it does help me to visualize how it will look. I may not even do something quite this formal in there – budget will totally dictate what ends up happening in this rom.

Friday Favorites
My featured home photo this week is the the sunroom from Andrea of Life on Cedar Lane. I love the striped rug (which I featured in my last Friday, I’m in Love post), the coffee table and how neutral and pretty the room is!
I’ve noticed a few things that caught my eye this week, including several items from Kirklands. Take 20% off your entire regular priced order with the code ENTIRE20! I loved this blue ottoman, this armchair (really loved this one, wish I had a good spot for it!), this rug, this scalloped mirror and this pretty chest. I also LOVED this striped ottoman from WalMart! The lid flips over to reveal a mango wood tray attached to it. I saw someone showing it in their Instagram stories. It’s a much brighter blue and white color than the photos show.
Have a great week!
