Since we haven’t been able to travel anywhere recently, I have been experiencing a major case of wanderlust. What better way to beat the travel blues then by revisiting some of my favorite vacation spots around the globe?
Today, I’m sharing a photo tour of Venice. My husband and I visited in April 2008 and it was incredible to see! There is no place quite like Venice. We spent 2 full days there before heading off to France and felt like it was a perfect amount of time to be able to really get a feel for the city.
Venice Photo Tour
I don’t think I really knew what to expect when we got there. Obviously everyone knows that Venice is full of canals but it’s such an interesting maze to see in person. Crumbling buildings have never looked so good! Venice is breathtakingly beautiful!
We visited all of the major sights – The Grand Canal, Piazzo San Marco, Basilico di San Marco, The Bridge of Sighs, Rialto Bridge, Basilica di Santa Maria della Salute and even made it over to Murano and Burano. We also got lost and turned around many, many times. Those are the best times though because in Venice, you always stumble upon something cool!
The Grand Canal
We took the water taxi along the Grand Canal multiple times and I think it might have been one of my favorite parts! We got to see so many amazing buildings – it’s crazy to think how long they have withstood the elements. I loved the crumbling bricks, the beautiful doors and the intricate details. They all inspired this photo tour of Venice!
We also did the absolute most touristy thing you can do in Venice – we took a gondola ride! It was totally worth it and we loved it!
All the muted colors and brick facades were so pretty in person. It turns out I’m also obsessed with European doors and flower boxes in the windows.
Every time you turn around in Venice, there are more pictures to take, especially on the Grand Canal!
I hope you enjoyed this photo tour of Venice!
