When we visited Newport Beach this past summer, I was so lucky to be able to make a quick trip to check out the new McGee & Co. store in nearby Costa Mesa. Come take a peek at my visit to McGee & Co.!
We traveled to Newport Beach this past summer (more on that soon – I’m working on a travel guide to share with you!) and there was no way I was leaving without making a visit to McGee & Co.’s new store. I’ve followed Shea on Instagram and have admired her work for quite a few years now. I was thrilled to be able to visit their brand new storefront. My husband was kind enough to take my kids over to Sidecar Donuts right across the street (an OC must!) and give me a few minutes of quiet time to browse. It’s a good thing there wasn’t much room in my suitcase because there were so many things that I loved. Shea’s styling is perfection and while it’s a smallish space, it packs a huge punch! Come and take a look!
Kitchen Area
They have this gorgeous setup with beautiful cabinetry and countertops when you walk in the door. Planked walls are my favorite so this did not disappoint! I loved all of the cutting boards, cookbooks and kitchen accessories.
Home Accessories
The middle and far end of the store has loads of beautiful home accessories. Vases, glass beads, home decor books, frames, blankets, pillows and more. I literally could have gotten one of everything and been a very happy (and broke!) camper. But I ended up with one small frame that I knew I could fit in my suitcase to take home with me. It doesn’t mean I’m not keeping my eye on a few of these items on her website though! That’s what I loved about my visit to McGee & Co. I could see and feel everything that I had been drooling over online and decide what I truly loved and want in my home. Speaking of things I’m drooling over, are those wide planked white oak floors not amazing?
My personal favorites were the vase above with all of the greens, the glass beads, and the large wooden bowl below.
I also love that vase above painted half white. A piece like that is so versatile – you could use it pretty much anywhere in your house and it would look amazing!
This little area in the picture below is so cute. I love the large framed photo of St. John they have hanging up. We were just there last summer so it was nice to see something so familiar! I am also a huge fan of glass bottles and vases like the ones on the table. So many different ways you can style those!
Honestly, I loved everything about my visit to McGee & Co. Everything in there is so fresh and simple but so incredibly stylish. The only disappointment was that I couldn’t take it all with me! If you are at all obsessed with Shea’s work or just interior decorating and design in general, then this store is definitely worth the trip if you are in the Orange County area!
