Guys, it’s finally done! Our navy blue dining room has been 3 years in the making and it’s finally (mostly) complete. This room has come a loooooong way since moving in almost 12 years ago. When we moved in, it was already painted a dark red and the dining set came with the house. It was great but as my style has evolved into a coastal style, it just didn’t flow together anymore.
Dining Room Before
When we remodeled the kitchen, I had the dining room painted in Sherwin Williams Naval to coordinate with our pantry colors. We couldn’t really afford to replace the furniture at that time so we just recently changed everything out while we’ve been home during quarantine. I’m so happy with how it all turned out!

I knew I wanted to replace the dark dining set with something light and bright. I also knew that I wanted to mix and match the dining chairs vs. buying a complete set. Finding a dining table that was in our budget proved to be difficult. I originally wanted a light driftwood table but I just couldn’t find an affordable option. We don’t use this room or table to eat at regularly so I didn’t want to invest tons of money into it. So when I found this white dining table that was super affordable, I was thrilled! It’s a bit smaller than I had wanted but it does the job just fine!
All of the dining chairs came from Ballard Designs and I am so happy with them! The Parsons end chairs are super comfortable and I love the color of the linen covers. They did come all folded up so I really had to steam the heck out of them to get all of the wrinkles out (I use this steamer for everything – it works wonders!).
The Chippendale-style chairs are amazing! They are the Dayna side chairs in natural oak and I’ve loved them forever. My original plan was to get them in white with a driftwood table but since I ended up with a white table, I grabbed this color instead. They also come in navy and green and they’re beautiful too! I waited forever for them to hit their lowest price and snagged them on a great sale!

Dining Room Chandelier
I went around and around on the chandelier – I looked at so many different options but in the end I went back to one of my very first picks. In the end, I decided on this bamboo-style chandelier in white. I feel like it really stands out against the navy blue paint and I love the brass bamboo accents too!
Dining Room Accents
With the old buffet being gone, I still needed somewhere to store our china and crystal that we use on the holidays. I’ve had my eye on this console table for years and have always loved it! I decided to bite the bullet and splurge and get the one thing that I really wanted. The cane doors add such a coastal look and I love the extra details with the curved feet and the brass hardware.
I picked up this lamp at HomeGoods and it plays off the end chairs perfectly. I’ve had this set of boxes, these glass beads, this coral sculpture and this brass orb forever and they were perfect additions to our coastal dining room! I loved this white vase from Target and dug up these flower stems in my basement from an old project forever ago.
The canvas art used to hang in our powder room before we remodeled it last spring. It’s a great addition in here. And last, this rug is from Target. It’s been in the dining room since we painted it 3 years ago.
