I’ve had coastal dining chairs on my mind lately! As I’ve mentioned in some of my recent Friday, I’m in Love posts, we are emptying out our dining room and selling our old dining set. With both kids and my husband home for school and work, we wanted to transform the room into something that’s more useable. Currently, my son is set up for school in there. I keep going back and forth on what to do with the room. Do we just use it as a flex room and let the kids bring toys and play in there? Or do we keep it as a dining room but update the furniture to make it more family friendly?
I really cannot make up my mind!
I’ve been putting together a plan for the second option. I think I have it nailed down if we go that route. It’s a total deviation from what I thought I was going to do too. It will be this table (with this one a very close runner-up only due to budget), plus this rug layered on top of this rug, 2 of these storage cabinets and possibly this pendant light. I put together a little mood board so you could see everything together.
What I haven’t decided on yet are the dining chairs!

I’ve been doing lots of searching for the perfect coastal dining chairs to finish off the casual yet beautiful, practical but beach-y vibe that I’m going for. So I rounded up all of my favorites so I could save you the time and effort of searching too. Here are 21 of my favorite coastal dining chairs! There is something here for every budget and style too!
Coastal Dining Chairs
In a dream world, where I could afford any coastal dining chair I wanted, these woven chairs from Serena and Lily would be at the very top of my list! So would these Balboa chairs. I love them both so much!
Also, on the higher priced end of things, these striped fabric end chairs are a fave and on my wish list! I love how put together they would make my dining room. These light blue Parsons end chairs are a much more affordable option for a fabric coastal dining chair!
Cane, rattan and wicker are all the rage in coastal home decor right now and I’ve got TONS of options for all of them. My personal favorite is the Dayna side chair from Ballard Designs. It’s just a classic, beautiful style. I also really love this white rattan chair from Wayfair and these light colored wicker chairs (it’s a set of 2!).
If you’re looking for a super affordable option, then these white wooden chairs are for you! Also priced as a pair, they are really reasonably priced and get great reviews too!
And for something completely unique, I loved both of the molded all-in-one wicker chairs that I included in this coastal dining chair round up! I think these are so cool and would consider them for our dining room! Editor’s note: I noticed that as of the time I hit publish on this post, both options are listed as sold out. You can add your name to a waiting list or check out a similar option in white here!
