Last summer when we were on vacation, my tween daughter started talking about giving her room a makeover. She was inspired by the decor in the house we rented and wanted a “beachy modern” bedroom. Well, I’m not sure that we ended up with that but we did end up with a super cute, pink and white tween girl bedroom! Last summer, I put together a coastal inspired pink bedroom mood board. You can see what items we used from there and how much we ended up varying from the original plan!
Bed and Nightstand

We purchased the bed from Macy’s a few years ago and I really can’y say enough good things about it. It’s very sturdy and heavy. I love the bright white color too! The nightstand is something that I found on a TJ Maxx trip randomly one day. I wasn’t sure if it would work in here but it’s perfect.
But the bedding? The bedding is my crowning achievement! We were having a hard time finding bedding we could agree on that wasn’t a million dollars. One day, I was walking through Kohl’s and went down the bedding aisle. I happened to spot this Lauren Conrad comforter on closeout, marked down to around $40! I also had a 30% off coupon and Kohl’s cash! In the end, I paid around $18 for the entire set – a king size comforter and 2 shams! I kept my fingers crossed that my daughter would love it and thankfully she did! Her bed is only a full but for the price, I decided that it would be just fine to be a bit oversized!
The floor mirror is from Target. We have the wall version in our bedroom – you can read all about our coastal modern bedroom makeover here. I love this mirror so much! It’s perfect for our pink and white tween girl bedroom!
Sitting Area
Papasan Chair Base | Brass Lamp | Marble Top Side Table | Pink Bowl (similar)
Her room is really big so there was a lot of space to fill. We knew she wanted a chair of some sort and she asked for a little table and lamp too. She received the Pier One papasan chair as a Christmas gift and then each set of grandparents bought her the table and lamp as birthday gifts. My husband joked that only my daughter would be excited to get furniture for a gift. Haha! Whatever, they are perfect for our pink and white tween girl bedroom!
Dresser and Mirror
Dresser | Lamp (similar) | Plant | Brass Mirror | Glass Tray (similar) | Jewelry Box (similar) | Lidded Hamper
I am in love with how her dresser area turned out. We have these exact same Ikea dressers in our bedroom and my son has the grey version in his. We love how roomy they are. When I found someone selling the dresser secondhand on Facebook, I sent my husband over to grab it after work one day. We saved some money and didn’t have to do the assembly!
I found the lamp one day at Home Goods and instantly knew that it would be perfect in here. Truthfully, I’d love to steal it for our family room but she’d never give it up! And as always, I incorporate my favorite Ikea plant into every room. It’s my #1 go-to home decor item! The round brass mirror from Target works perfectly above the dresser and I love the lidded laundry hamper as well. We use it for stuffed animal storage instead!
Storage Cubes and Shelves
Kallax Cubes | Shelves | Basket (similar) | Bookends | Vase (similar) | Glass Beads | Paris Book | Plant | Pink Pot (similar)
Like I mentioned above, this room has a lot of space! The Kallax 8-cube unit from Ikea was a perfect fit for this little cutout space. We used to have a tall dresser here and the shelves were already hung from then. I spray painted the shelf brackets gold instead of the black finish that they come in. You can’t see it in the photos but to the right, there is a cute linen inboard hung up. She keeps various pictures and momentos up there.
My daughter loves her pink and white tween girl bedroom and so do I! I think her dresser area is my favorite! Thanks for stopping by!
