I’m back today to talk about our trip to Las Vegas and 5 fun things we did with our kids! Read on to find out more!
When you think of Las Vegas, a wholesome family trip isn’t always the first thing that springs to mind, is it? Sure, Vegas is filled with casinos, gambling and nightclubs, but there’s actually a lot of fun to be had for families.
5 Fun Things to Do With Your Kids in Las Vegas on the Strip
Both of my husband’s brothers live in the suburbs around Las Vegas, so we have traveled there many, times for adults-only trips but our kids have also been twice now. My brother-in-law got married last summer and we decided to spend some time on the Strip for a day so our kids could see all of the sights. Here’s the 5 things we did with our kids that they loved best!
1.) The Linq – This area of the Strip is a relatively new area and it’s really cute! We went on the High Roller ferris wheel and our kids loved it! There were 8 of us and we all fit very comfortably in our own pod. It was nice to be able to see the Strip from a higher vantage point. The views of the surrounding mountains don’t disappoint either. The Linq also has a bunch of fun restaurants and bars and even a bowling alley/concert space!
2.) Sprinkles Cupcake ATM – I don’t know about you, but I’ve never gotten a cupcake from an ATM before so we definitely wanted to try this out. The Sprinkles Cupcakes machine was also at The Linq near the Ferris wheel. The kids thought it was soooo cool and of course, the cupcakes were delicious too! I just read that they have closed this location but are expanding to 2 new locations on the Strip. Make sure to check them out when they re-open!
3.) Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay – My son was absolutely obsessed with sharks for a while so this one was a must do! The Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay was lots of fun and there was plenty to see. My kids especially loved seeing the octopus and obviously, the sharks. At one point someone asked what kind of shark we were looking at and my son answered before the guide could! 🙂4.) Fountains and Flower Gardens at the Bellagio – While we were on the Strip, we got to see the fountains at the Bellagio twice. It’s certainly something that you really can’t experience anywhere else and our kids really enjoyed it. The best part is that it’s free! We also wandered over to the Conservatory and Botanical Gardens at the Bellagio. Admittedly, I enjoyed it way more than my kids + husband 😉 but it’s still beautiful to see!
Fun Activity off the Strip
5.) Cowabunga Bay Water Park – This fun water park is actually in Henderson, just a 20 minute drive from The Strip. It has a giant wave pool, a baby pool and a bunch of slides. There was plenty to do for everyone of all ages! It’s set up in a really cute ‘50’s beach shack theme, which I loved. You can also bring food in but you have to take it outside the park to eat. If your kids love the water and rides, it’s definitely worth a visit to Cowabunga Bay for a break from The Strip!
So there it is – 5 of our favorite fun things to do in Las Vegas with your kids! Have you done Vegas with your family? What are some of your favorite activities?
